31 Posts Of Halloween: Nosferatu

Nosferatu is a 1922 vampire film based off of the work of Bram Stocker. I can understand why Bram's wife didn't like this movie.

Alright, I'm not going to be explaining the plot for this film, as the story is pretty straight forward, and I've already done another review of a Dracula film. Plus this is going to be pretty short.
So... I found this movie to be quite dull, and boring. My gaze often wandered, and it just couldn't hold my interest.
I do enjoy the story of Dracula, but this film is nothing but a bastardized version of the original. They change names, and plot, leaving whole sections out of the original story.
Some of the visuals are interesting given the time period and the tech they had available, but that doesn't excuse it from poor storytelling.
I think that I went into this movie a little overhyped, which I really should have lowered my expectations.
Even though this movie kinda sucks, Nosferatu is one of those films you might want to see, just so you can say you have. Yet, I would understand if you don't want to watch this movie at all. Nosferatu was a let down.

final score: 2/5

Coda Movie Review

Coda Movie Review This Deserved Best Picture So, I just got back from seeing Coda, and it was amazing! This was the second attempt to see this film as the first time, someone booked the entire theater for a private screening. I'm going to take from a summary from IMDB to summarize the plot: " As a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) Ruby is the only hearing person in her deaf family. When the family's fishing business is threatened, Ruby finds herself torn between pursuing her passion at Berklee College of Music and her fear of abandoning her parents." The acting was  phenomenal, the  cinematography was beautiful, and the story was human. The way this film is crafted is nothing short but excellent. I will not that not everything is 100% accurate, but for narrative reasons, I understand the choices they made. The actors have amazing chemistry together. Everything feels natural between them and they all bring their characters to life. No per...
