31 Posts Of Halloween: Night Of The Living Dead

Night Of The Living Dead, is the classic zombie film, that everyone that likes zombie flicks should watch at least once!

So, this movie follows a group of people in a house as they try to survive the zombie hoard. The rules for the zombies in this film are different than the ones in most other zombie films today. And to be honest, I absolutely love how this movie portrays zombies!
They are smart enough to use some tools, but they have a fear of fire. They aren't completely mindless, but just dumb enough to be outsmarted, so long as there aren't to many of them.
Night Of The Living Dead came out in 1968, and had a budget of $114,000.00 or in today's dollars, $842,483.40. For film, being under a million in modern terms is cheap indie film budget, and this movie pulls it off perfectly with what it has to work with. It really is an impressive film given the time that it was made in.
George A. Romero, rest in piece, 1940 - 2017, was one of the master of horror and surmounted his name in the canon of legends of horror with this film. This was the first film that I saw of his, and now I want to watch more. The man was a legend.
I strongly recommend watching Night Of The Living dead this October. It would be perfect to watch on Halloween if you're looking to see a classic! I'm going to end this review with one of my now new favorite quotes, "They're coming to get you, Barbara!"

final score: 4/5

Coda Movie Review

Coda Movie Review This Deserved Best Picture So, I just got back from seeing Coda, and it was amazing! This was the second attempt to see this film as the first time, someone booked the entire theater for a private screening. I'm going to take from a summary from IMDB to summarize the plot: " As a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) Ruby is the only hearing person in her deaf family. When the family's fishing business is threatened, Ruby finds herself torn between pursuing her passion at Berklee College of Music and her fear of abandoning her parents." The acting was  phenomenal, the  cinematography was beautiful, and the story was human. The way this film is crafted is nothing short but excellent. I will not that not everything is 100% accurate, but for narrative reasons, I understand the choices they made. The actors have amazing chemistry together. Everything feels natural between them and they all bring their characters to life. No per...
