MindHunter Season 2 Review

MindHunter Season 2 Review Hot Damn That Was A Good Season! If you have Netflix, you need to be watching MindHunter. This show is fantastic, and it's quickly rising to become one of my favorites. If you haven't checked out my review for Season 1 yet all the way back from 2017, go and do so. Season 2 of MindHunter continues the story of two FBI agents, Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany) along with physiologist, Dr. Wendy Carr (Anna Torv) in the late 1970s as they build upon the new behavioral science unit at the FBI. This season, their unit begins to expand, and they begin to apply their finding in the field.  I purposely left the show description a little sparse this time, because if I gave more, I fear I'd enter spoiler territory. The acting was topnotch! The camera work was beautifully crafted and the overall aesthetic of the show is incredible. Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany, and Anna Torv are fantastic actors. They play their pa

Dora and the Lost City of Gold Movie Review

Dora and the Lost City of Gold Movie Review This Was My Dad's Idea Well... I went and saw Dora and the Lost City of Gold today with my dad, and... the film was a lot funnier than it has any right to be. Dora and the Lost City of Gold is a live action adaptation of the Dora tv show on Nickelodeon. Dora, now a teenager, is sent to the City to live with her cousin, Diego, while her parents go exploring for a lost City. When her parents go missing, Dora and her new friends go and search for her parents. I can't believe I'm going to say this, but the movie wasn't half bad. There is a ton of tongue and cheek humor. There is some cringe to the Dora and the Lost City of Gold too, but remember, this is a movie made for kids. As a kids film, it does a fine job. The acting was fine, and for a kids film, everyone did alright. Isabela Moner, who played Dora, did a good job portraying the character from what I remember about the show when I was very young. What surprised

Pulp Fiction Movie Review

Pulp Fiction Movie Review Better Than I Remember Like I said in my Once Upon A Time In Hollywood Movie Review , I'm not a big Tarantino fan. Yet the other day I rewatched Pulp Fiction with a couple buddies of mine, and it was better than I remembered. Pulp Fiction follows a few people as there lives intertwine together in the underground of society.  I think that's the shortest movie synopsis I've ever written. The acting is fine, and so is the directing. The jokes land most of the time and the action is Tarantino's signature .  I think it's always impressive how Tarantino can assemble such an array of talent. John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson, Bruce Willis, Uma Thurman, etc... It seemed like all the actors had a fun time with this film. Tarantino has a very unique directing style. You know you're watching a Tarantino film if I just plopped you down in front of the screen and only showed you one scene. What I don't understand is his seeming ob

Good Boys Movie Review

Good Boys Movie Review Superbad If It Were Sixth Graders I got to see an advanced screening of Good Boys this past Wednesday with a couple buddies of mine, and we laughed our butts off! Good Boys stars three young sixth graders, Max (Jacob Tremblay), Lucas (Keith L. Williams), and Thor (Brady Noon), as the three of them get entangled in hijinks. Look, this movie is a very raunchy comedy. If that's not your style of humor, then you won't like this film. If you're okay with raunchy comedy, you will love Good Boys.  The three young stars did a fantastic job and worked well with each other. Jacob Tremblay, Keith L. Williams, and Brady Noon, all did such a fantastic job. I could see the three of them being friends in real life because their chemistry on screen had such a natural flow. All the other actors in this film did well as well. The laughs just keep on coming. I laughed from the first scene, to the last. Jokes are quick and they keep coming. Remember though

How to create an Indie Book

How to create an Indie Book A Basic Guide For New Or Beginner Indie Authors  Introduction Well, this is a bit different from my usual posts. As some of you may know, I'm an indie author. I've made mistakes, and some of my books are better than others, but I've grown a lot in the past year. I want to share my knowledge, so maybe you don't make the same mistakes. This is the nearly free way to put out an indie book. The only thing I recommend paying for is a cover for your book. But if you decide to make your book cover, I'll provide you with some resources I've found which may help. If you've only put out one or two books, or you're thinking about putting out your first book, I hope this basic guide can help save you from the mistakes I've made. Each section will give you a basic overview of how to get things done. If I can, I'll share resources with you, which has also helped me improve over this past year. Let's get right into it!

Top 5 Most Anticipated 2019 Movies Revisited

Top 5 Most Anticipated 2019 Movies Revisited  Some Good, Some Bad If you've been with the blog for a while, you might have noticed all the way back on January 1st of 2019 I created a Top 5 Most Anticipated 2019 Movies list. So, either all the movies have been out by now, or they got pushed. I though it'd be fun to revisit these movies and cover my thoughts, and see if they were worthy as I initially thought they would be. I'll be going over each film as I initially placed them. Click on the title to read the review. Let's kick things off with number 5! 5. Godzilla: King of the Monsters This was a huge let down. I went into the theater so excited to see giant monsters fight on screen. What I got was poor acting and dialogue. The visuals were great, and when the fights were happening, I loved every second of it. The only problem was they didn't show enough of Godzilla. It sucks for me cause I used to watch the poorly dubbed Godzilla films when I was a kid,

Hobbs & Shaw Movie Review

Hobbs & Shaw Movie Review A Fun Summer Action Flick I went and saw Hobbs & Shaw over the weekend with a buddy of mine, and it was exactly as you'd expect from this film.  From The Fast & The Furious franchise, comes Hobbs & Shaw, two unlikely people team up to save the world from a deadly engineered virus. If you've been watching The Fast & The Furious, you know what you're getting into in this film. It's not going to win any Oscars. But if you're looking to go and watch a big budget action flick this August, then Hobbs & Shaw is probably the movie for you. Dwayne Johnson, and Jason Statham, both did a fine job. They seemed comfortable in their roles, and  looked as if they were having loads of fun. They know their characters, they know this series, like I said, you get what you think you are going to. Now, what I didn't expect were the cameos. There are a couple of surprise cameos in Hobbs & Shaw, and they are very well

1917 Movie Trailer Reaction

1917 Movie Trailer Reaction Looks Great! I think the subheading for this post says it all. 1917 looks like it'll be a great film. I could be wrong , and I have been wrong before . However this gives me sort of Journey's End vibes and I absolutely love it! It seems there are more and more WWI films coming out, and I think since it's now been just over 100 years, we're getting nostalgic for the period. I remember about a decade or so ago, and still to this day, we see more films geared towards WWII, but it's nice to see more attention placed on WWI. As someone who loves history, and historical films, I can't wait to see 1917. The camera work from the trailer looks great, the actors appear immersed in the setting, and the color grading is absolutely fantastic! I know it's a short post, but my trailer reactions/reviews are typically shorter than my actual reviews anyways. I thoroughly enjoyed this trailer, and I'm pumped to see 1917! final s

The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! Movie Review

The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! Movie Review A Great 80s Comedy I'm somewhat surprised I haven't seen The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! before, but I finally got around to seeing it, and it was hilarious! Also, for the rest of the review, I'm just going to refer to the movie as, The Naked Gun . The Naked Gun follows Detective Frank Derbin (Leslie Nielsen) as he attempts to stop a plot to murder Queen Elizabeth II.  This is a great 80s film. The acting, cinematography, and directing are all great. I found this film as a great film to unwind at the end of the day. Leslie Nielsen as Frank Berlin was fantastic. He practically becomes the character and plays it so naturally. It almost feels as if this movie was tailored specifically for him. All the other actors in the film did a fine job as well. I found the cinematography to be fun and functional. There are no wasted shots in The Naked Gun . Just simply, the camera work was good. It look

An American Werewolf In London Movie Review

An American Werewolf In London Movie Review Not What I Expected I saw An American Werewolf In London a little bit ago, and it was an alright film. What I'm most surprised about is, how few werewolf films there are. An American Werewolf In London follows David ( David Naughton) and his friend Jack, two Americans traveling through England. They come across a small town which is awfully suspicious, and when they leave, they're attacked by a Werewolf. David survives and is brought to a hospital in London. Now he has to face becoming the monster which nearly killed him. I thought this was a plain horror movie, but for some reason I didn't know going into the film, it was a horror-comedy. That said, I found the comedy to be pretty good. I was surprised at how many times I caught myself chuckling.  Regarding the cinematography, there aren't to many creative shots in the film. Everything is pretty standard, accept when the werewolf comes into play.  The actor,
