The Exception Movie Review

The Exception is a 2016 WWII film that follows the former Kaiser Wilhelm II during the year of 1940, and his personal guard.

The Exception follows from the perspective of Captain Stefan Brandt (Jai Courtney), of the Germany Army during WWII as he is assigned to protect the former Kaiser. Kaiser Wilhelm II (Christopher Plummer) in the film wishes to retake the crown yet there is still subtle undertones of him disliking the Nazi's. Then while the Capitan is protecting the Kaiser, him and his men are trying to find a British spy, all the while the Captain is having a fling with one of the servants, Mieke de Jong (Lily James).
So when people think of WWII they usually think about the Axis vs the Allies, but one interesting story is overlooked, and that's of the former Kaiser of Germany. Kaiser Wilhelm II was still alive during the beginning of the war, and protecting the Kaiser was more of a publicity stunt of the Nazi's. The Kaiser wanted to reclaim some sort of title, but he was only fed false promises.
The acting in this film is pretty good. Jai Courtney does a good job in the film, and he is a decent enough actor. Now, is it just me or does Christopher Plummer somewhat resemble Donald Sutherland? Anyways, I found Christopher Plummer portraying the Kaiser to be highly entertaining, and I thoroughly enjoyed his performance. Christopher Plummer also somewhat resembles the actual Kaiser if you look at elder pictures of him.
Now there aren't a ton of problems in the film, but I will list some that I did notice. The pacing is a little off in the beginning in regards to characters relationships. Also I wanted to see more of Kaiser Wilhelm II.
If you want to see an overlooked story of WWII, then The Exception is worth a watch. I had a pleasant enough time watching this film and I'll probably watch it again.

final score: 3.5/5

Dora and the Lost City of Gold Movie Review

Dora and the Lost City of Gold Movie Review This Was My Dad's Idea Well... I went and saw Dora and the Lost City of Gold today with my dad, and... the film was a lot funnier than it has any right to be. Dora and the Lost City of Gold is a live action adaptation of the Dora tv show on Nickelodeon. Dora, now a teenager, is sent to the City to live with her cousin, Diego, while her parents go exploring for a lost City. When her parents go missing, Dora and her new friends go and search for her parents. I can't believe I'm going to say this, but the movie wasn't half bad. There is a ton of tongue and cheek humor. There is some cringe to the Dora and the Lost City of Gold too, but remember, this is a movie made for kids. As a kids film, it does a fine job. The acting was fine, and for a kids film, everyone did alright. Isabela Moner, who played Dora, did a good job portraying the character from what I remember about the show when I was very young. What surprised...

Norsemen Netflix Show Review So Far

Norsemen Netflix Show Review So Far The funniest show I've seen in years I've been watching a show on Netflix called Norsemen, and I swear this is the funniest show I've seen in years! I can't understate how funny this show can really be, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say about 90% of the jokes land. Norsemen starts off in 790 AD, and follows a few Vikings and their slaves. The show goes through their lives and their trials, but it's done with a comedic spin. If you haven't yet, watch the trailer above to get a better idea of the show. I will say this, this show reminds me of Monty Python ! Some of the jokes Norsemen  are gut busting, and will almost have you rolling on the floor laughing. In an age of bad comedies this show is gold.  I just started watching season 2 the other day, and I just want to keep watching. The episodes are about a half hour long each, and it's the perfect time frame to get the story across. I wouldn't c...
