Ready Player One Movie Review

Image Source WARNING THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS, IF YOU DON'T WANT SPOILERS FOR THIS FILM, READ THE REVIEW AFTERWARDS, OTHERWISE CONTINUE, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! Now that my spoiler warning is out of the way I can go straight to my thoughts on this film. On a technical level this film was fine. Though my personal thoughts on it are quite different. I thought that the movie in reality was depressing. I think I'm going to give my thoughts on the technical level first then explain why it's depressing, because that really needs to be addressed. So first off, the animation of this film was extremely well done and I have to give props to the animators of this film on a job well done. This is a project that looks like it would probably be a lot of fun to work on. The lighting of the film was fine and the darks were never to dark and the lights never to light. The film found a good balance and I applaud it for that. The music of the film sounded mostly of an 80'

Pacific Rim Uprising Movie Review

Last night I went and saw Pacific Rim Uprising or as it should be known: Lazy Writing The Movie! Because it really is. This movie is all plot and no story. There are certain actions taken which you know will lead to other things down the road, and it's so freaking obvious that it's like the writers were not even trying. This entire movie is just a pay check. There are a few scenes where there is genuine intrigue, but alas, they just skip right over that and go straight into the action scenes. It was like the writers couldn't come up with any details for an interesting concept, so instead they decided to just cut to the fight scene instead. The actors in this movie try sometimes, but don't really do much with their range. The music is pretty generic. I guess some of the fight scenes are cool. I really would skip this one if I were you. There's really not much to see here. The movie is very predictable. Is it the worst film ever? No, but that doesn't mean th

Tomb Raider Movie Review

Image Source It happened... It really happened... The film industry has finally made a good video game movie... Holy Crap!  Okay, lets cool our jets for a moment and try to solve the puzzle of this film. It's a simple story really, Lara Croft is the daughter of a wealthy man and her dad has been missing, presumed dead for the past seven years. Now Lara was old enough to get what she was supposed to receive from her fathers will, she is given a puzzle which she solves. The puzzle leads her onto a grand adventure, where she must fight to find the truth of what happened to her father, and the reason why he left in the first place.  The action in this movie is honestly amazing. I wrote a post a while ago called, Where are the Action Heros?  I think I just found what I was looking for. The action in this movie is well done and the stunts were overall pleasant and somewhat nail biting. The more intense scenes were well shot and the music matched the pace of the scene which brought

Red Sparrow Movie Review

Image Source So a little bit ago I just saw Red Sparrow staring Jennifer Lawrence, and from what I've seen the response to this movie has been a mixed bag, but what did I think about it? So in this espionage thriller, Dominika (Jennifer Lawrence) is a ballerina who breaks her leg and looses her job. Her uncle who works for the Russian Government in the intelligence field recruits her as a spy under the guise to help her financially and help with her mother's medical bills and doctors. So, what did the movie get wrong that's giving it so much of a mixed reaction? Well, I want to say that this movie probably isn't for everyone, because there are some scenes that could be seen as disturbing to some, and some might not like some of the nudity involved in the context of this film. That being said, does it work well with the plot? Yes, it does and it makes sense for what the movie is going for. Some of the acting can be a little stale sometimes. Also some of the chara

Black Panther Movie Review Update

So a little while ago I saw the Movie Black Panther again, and it was a little more boring than when I watched it the first time. The action seemed a little more dull, and the jokes weren't as good as I remembered them to be. So with that in mind, I'm changing my Black Panther score from 3.5 and I'm lowering it to a 3 out of 5 as the final score.

The Shape Of Water Movie Review

So I'm a little late to this one but, here I am, finally reviewing The Shape of Water. I wanted to see this movie when it came out, and if you know me you know I really wanted to go and see this movie. The real question is, is it good though? First off I want to say that the design of the creature was truly, visually amazing. I don't think it's any secret that they took inspiration from Creature of the Black Lagoon. The overall design of the amphibian man was spectacular. Another thing I liked was the color scheme of the movie, there was a constant theme of green throughout the entire film. So for this type of movie I would say that was a perfect choice, and I probably would have done the same. The music in this movie is done pretty well, but it's not that memorable. I don't think I heard any horns in the score now that I think about it. Now onto the acting of the film. It was... decent for the most part, but I couldn't feel like all of the actors were givin
