Top 5 Best Films Of 2020

Top 5 Best Films Of 2020

Some Much Needed Watches!

It's that time of the year! Time to go over the Top 5 Best Films Of 2020! Here are the rules: the movie must have been in theaters this year or it must have premiered this year, and it must have scored at minimum 4/5 and I only allow myself three 5/5 movies per year. However for 2020 I will be striking the 4/5 minimum because I wasn't able to see enough films to qualify on that rule, so I will just be doing the Top 5 highest rated films of 2020. With that said, let's get into the list!

5. The Call Of The Wild

The Call Of The Wild Poster

I enjoyed watching this film. Though Harrison Ford wasn't in the whole of the film, the appearance he made was good, and the CGI wasn't terrible. I found the story to be pretty good overall and it's a nice family film.

3.5/5

4. Human Capital

I'm assuming that most people probably haven't seen this film, but it's worth seeing at least once. Though it is very stylized, and it's not for everyone, I would still recommend watching it for free on tv.

3.7/5

3. The New Mutants

The New Mutants Poster

The New Mutants has been getting way more hate than it should be getting. It's a smaller self contained story, and the actors work well together. I do have some recommendations which could have made this film better, but for a casual watch, it can be fun.

3.7/5

2. Jojo Rabbit

There was a lot of heart put into this film, and it shows. This was such a fun film filled with comedy, drama, tragedy, and life. This movie earns it's spot at the second best film of the year.

4.5/5

1. 1917

1917 Poster

I'm a bit of a pushover for historical films irregardless of the subject matter. It seems like the past few years WWI has become more popular as a subject matter for film, and there is so much to tell in WWI. 1917 is such an amazing film, the acting, cinematography, soundtrack, and everything in-between is fantastic! This truly is the best film of 2020!

4.8/5

Conclusion

Do you agree with my list? Do you disagree? Should I have a different movie(s) on this list? Am I completely wrong and you want to go on a rant? Well then, tell me in the comments! And Happy New Year!

Uncharted Movie Review

Uncharted Movie Review Not As Good As The Games I went and saw the movie Uncharted a while ago, and it was as I expected it to be. If you are a fan of the games, well... prepare for disappointment. Uncharted follows Nathan Drake (Tom Holland), a low level thief as he is recruited by Victor Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) to go on a treasure hunt. As someone who has played some of the games, but not all, I have to say that the Uncharted film is what I thought it would be. A mishmash of all four games but not committing to any of them. The acting is a bit stale, and the plot is predictable. The camera work was fine, but the music was underused. Tom Holland should not have been Nathan Drake. He lacks the charisma, the attitude, and the charm. He may have passed for a teenage Nathan Drake, but he should have only been in a few scenes. I'm not the biggest fan of Tom Holland either long time readers may know. Now, onto Mark Wahlberg as Victor Sullivan. Mark Wahlberg is way too young to be playi

2022 Halloween Playlist

2022 Halloween Playlist Well, it's that time of year again! It's time for the Halloween Playlist! I'm happy to continue this tradition. So, like each year, I build on the list from the previous years. Maybe you'll find something to add to your Halloween playlist this year too!

Coda Movie Review

Coda Movie Review This Deserved Best Picture So, I just got back from seeing Coda, and it was amazing! This was the second attempt to see this film as the first time, someone booked the entire theater for a private screening. I'm going to take from a summary from IMDB to summarize the plot: " As a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) Ruby is the only hearing person in her deaf family. When the family's fishing business is threatened, Ruby finds herself torn between pursuing her passion at Berklee College of Music and her fear of abandoning her parents." The acting was  phenomenal, the  cinematography was beautiful, and the story was human. The way this film is crafted is nothing short but excellent. I will not that not everything is 100% accurate, but for narrative reasons, I understand the choices they made. The actors have amazing chemistry together. Everything feels natural between them and they all bring their characters to life. No performance fell flat. I perhaps would
