Norsemen Netflix Show Review So Far

Norsemen Netflix Show Review So Far

The funniest show I've seen in years

I've been watching a show on Netflix called Norsemen, and I swear this is the funniest show I've seen in years! I can't understate how funny this show can really be, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say about 90% of the jokes land.
Norsemen starts off in 790 AD, and follows a few Vikings and their slaves. The show goes through their lives and their trials, but it's done with a comedic spin.
Norsemen, Arvid and FrĆøyaIf you haven't yet, watch the trailer above to get a better idea of the show. I will say this, this show reminds me of Monty Python! Some of the jokes Norsemen are gut busting, and will almost have you rolling on the floor laughing. In an age of bad comedies this show is gold.
I just started watching season 2 the other day, and I just want to keep watching. The episodes are about a half hour long each, and it's the perfect time frame to get the story across. I wouldn't change anything.
Norsemen, Rufus buriedWhat's really interesting about this show is that it's completely Norwegian. Don't worry though, as the actors do an English take too, so there's no subtitles! It's interesting to watch a show made by another culture outside the US, and if Norway's other comedies are as good as Norsemen, then I have a lot new shows to look up!
I honestly can't think of any major flaws with this series. I mean it, this show is really good! Wait... I can think of maybe one flaw with this show... it needs more episodes per season! I'm loving this show and can't get enough of it, whomever came up with the idea for this show is a genius.
Norsemen, Arvid and KarkThe trailer doesn't give the best jokes away, so it's not one of those, "Spoil the whole thing," kind of trailer. I just wanted to add this little caveat, because the show gets into some really great humor.
All the actors do an amazing job, and there's not a single bad performance which I can think of in Norsemen. All of the actors are great! My favorite character is a slave named, Kark, played by Ƙystein Martinsen. Kark is the character that everyone craps on, but he always keeps an upbeat attitude about things, and it just adds more layers to the comedy. Arvid is probably the protagonist to the show, and he's played by Nils JĆørgen Kaalstad. Arvid has some very good lines in the show, and is a likable character.
I'm going to end this review by saying, I can't wait to finish season 2, which I probably will by the end of the day, and season 3 can't get here fast enough! If you've been dying to see a great comedy, and just haven't found a good one, then Norsemen is a must watch show!

final score: 5/5

Comments

  1. I had not heard of this show either and randomly heard about it from a podcast where they mentioned it. This show is very funny and I plan on watching season two tonight. Way more people need to be talking about this series.

Uncharted Movie Review

Uncharted Movie Review Not As Good As The Games I went and saw the movie Uncharted a while ago, and it was as I expected it to be. If you are a fan of the games, well... prepare for disappointment. Uncharted follows Nathan Drake (Tom Holland), a low level thief as he is recruited by Victor Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) to go on a treasure hunt. As someone who has played some of the games, but not all, I have to say that the Uncharted film is what I thought it would be. A mishmash of all four games but not committing to any of them. The acting is a bit stale, and the plot is predictable. The camera work was fine, but the music was underused. Tom Holland should not have been Nathan Drake. He lacks the charisma, the attitude, and the charm. He may have passed for a teenage Nathan Drake, but he should have only been in a few scenes. I'm not the biggest fan of Tom Holland either long time readers may know. Now, onto Mark Wahlberg as Victor Sullivan. Mark Wahlberg is way too young to be playi

Coda Movie Review

Coda Movie Review This Deserved Best Picture So, I just got back from seeing Coda, and it was amazing! This was the second attempt to see this film as the first time, someone booked the entire theater for a private screening. I'm going to take from a summary from IMDB to summarize the plot: " As a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) Ruby is the only hearing person in her deaf family. When the family's fishing business is threatened, Ruby finds herself torn between pursuing her passion at Berklee College of Music and her fear of abandoning her parents." The acting was  phenomenal, the  cinematography was beautiful, and the story was human. The way this film is crafted is nothing short but excellent. I will not that not everything is 100% accurate, but for narrative reasons, I understand the choices they made. The actors have amazing chemistry together. Everything feels natural between them and they all bring their characters to life. No performance fell flat. I perhaps would

The Batman Movie Review

The Batman Movie Review A Solid Noir Film I went and saw The Batman the other day with one of my buddies and I must say, we really enjoyed it. Granted I don't think this movie is for everyone. The Batman follows Batman (Robert Pattinson) during his second year of crime fighting. When the mayor of Gotham is killed by The Riddler (Paul Dano), it is up to Batman with the help of James Gordon (Jeffery Wright), and Selina Kyle (Zoƫ Kravitz) to stop him. From a visual point of view, The Batman is gorgeous. Every frame is a painting. The acting is solid, the plot is solid. The musical score is outstanding. I personally loved the film, but there are some things in it that could off-set some Batman fans. I typically get into the acting first, but like you've probably already heard many reviewers say before, the city is a character in this film. Gotham feels real, grounded, and certainly not a place you'd want to visit. Corruption and crime run rampant at every level of society. The
