Solomon Kane Movie Review

Solomon Kane is a 2009 action film that is perfect background noise.

Solomon Kane follows Solomon Kane (James Purefoy) as he seeks to redeem his soul and save his homeland from all the devils that see to plague it.
So this isn't the first time I've seen this film. I watched it once when it came out all those years ago, and I forgot about it, until I noticed that I could stream it.
There are some flashy action scenes and some of the sets are creative. I thought that it had some decent fight scenes but still it was pretty standard.
I was surprised to find out that the lead actor who played Solomon Kane is Jams Purefoy. If you don't remember him, then maybe you'll remember that he played Mark Antony on HBO's show Rome. He looks and sounds almost completely different in this movie compared to some of his other works. If you didn't see Rome, then you might recognize him from the show, The Following, as he played Joe Carroll.
This is a pretty basic indie film. Like many other indie films, it has some interesting parts, some cheesy parts, and some bad parts. If you have some work that you need to get done then this movie holds enough interest to be background noise. It will hold your interest to that point.
Solomon Kane isn't a bad film, it's just an alright film. Is it worth a watch? Eh. It all depends on your tastes.

final score: 2.7/5

Coda Movie Review

Coda Movie Review This Deserved Best Picture So, I just got back from seeing Coda, and it was amazing! This was the second attempt to see this film as the first time, someone booked the entire theater for a private screening. I'm going to take from a summary from IMDB to summarize the plot: " As a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) Ruby is the only hearing person in her deaf family. When the family's fishing business is threatened, Ruby finds herself torn between pursuing her passion at Berklee College of Music and her fear of abandoning her parents." The acting was  phenomenal, the  cinematography was beautiful, and the story was human. The way this film is crafted is nothing short but excellent. I will not that not everything is 100% accurate, but for narrative reasons, I understand the choices they made. The actors have amazing chemistry together. Everything feels natural between them and they all bring their characters to life. No per...
