What happened to 2D Animation?

If you enjoy a good animated film, such as I, then you have probably noticed the lack of 2D animation in the past few years.
I mean sure when you go to the store you might see a 2D animated superhero movie, but what you won't see is that movie in theaters.
3D animation has abruptly taken over the theaters with it's more simplistic style of animation. Gone are the days of hand drawn films, or just 2D made on a computer.
Don't get me wrong, I do like 3D films, it's just that the artistic style just can't match the pure beauty of 2D, for example lets take two examples of animation from Disney. First off the 3D animation style:

It's from a pretty popular film that you've heard of, and you may be thinking, alright that's pretty good, but wait let's compare it to some older 2D animation from Disney:

There's just something about 2D that I miss, and I would like to see recaptured. It's a shame that it's not as popular as it once was in cinema. But hey, give me your thoughts in the comments, I want to know what you think about 2D and 3D.

Coda Movie Review

Coda Movie Review This Deserved Best Picture So, I just got back from seeing Coda, and it was amazing! This was the second attempt to see this film as the first time, someone booked the entire theater for a private screening. I'm going to take from a summary from IMDB to summarize the plot: " As a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) Ruby is the only hearing person in her deaf family. When the family's fishing business is threatened, Ruby finds herself torn between pursuing her passion at Berklee College of Music and her fear of abandoning her parents." The acting was  phenomenal, the  cinematography was beautiful, and the story was human. The way this film is crafted is nothing short but excellent. I will not that not everything is 100% accurate, but for narrative reasons, I understand the choices they made. The actors have amazing chemistry together. Everything feels natural between them and they all bring their characters to life. No per...
