Alpha Movie Review

So, yesterday I went and saw the movie, Alpha, and it was an alright film, that could have been a little better.

So, Alpha, is a movie that takes place about 20,000 years ago where a boy first domesticates a wolf. That's the basis of the story.
Honestly, it's a pretty simple movie. There's nothing complex about it, and that has some benefits and some drawbacks.
The benefits in Alpha are, it's easy to follow, it's well acted, and it's short. The actors in this film do a really good job, and you should know that this entire film is in another language, so you will be reading subtitles. Chuck (look him up) was probably the best actor in the film, as he reached peak good boy status.
Some drawbacks to this film are, not to much happens after the boy gets separated from his tribe, and the CGI is very obvious in some parts. Now, when he does get separated and he meets up with the wolf, it's interesting to watch their relationship grow, however, there really isn't a villain in the story to raise tensions.
Alpha is an alright movie that you should see if you like dog films, or prehistoric films. See it once in theaters, then watch it for free on tv if you want to see it again.

final score: 3/5

Coda Movie Review

Coda Movie Review This Deserved Best Picture So, I just got back from seeing Coda, and it was amazing! This was the second attempt to see this film as the first time, someone booked the entire theater for a private screening. I'm going to take from a summary from IMDB to summarize the plot: " As a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) Ruby is the only hearing person in her deaf family. When the family's fishing business is threatened, Ruby finds herself torn between pursuing her passion at Berklee College of Music and her fear of abandoning her parents." The acting was  phenomenal, the  cinematography was beautiful, and the story was human. The way this film is crafted is nothing short but excellent. I will not that not everything is 100% accurate, but for narrative reasons, I understand the choices they made. The actors have amazing chemistry together. Everything feels natural between them and they all bring their characters to life. No per...
