5 Movies To Watch During Self Isolation

5 Movies To Watch During Self Isolation

To Get Your Mind Off Of Things For A While

So, now that many of us are in self isolation, there is a lot of free time on our hands. So, to help pass the time, I've created a list of 5 movies to to get your mind off of things for a while. Each movie is from a different genre. I thought a little variety would be good. Click on the title of the movie to pull up the review and see if it's right for you. I think most of us could use a little escapism at the moment. So, lets get right into it!

5. The Lost City Of Z

The Lost City Of Z Movie Poster

The Lost City Of Z is a historical adventure which is based on true events. Charlie Hunnam in my opinion is an under appreciated actor and he really shines in this film. I know there's a book about the events as well, but I haven't read it yet. If you're looking for a little adventure, consider The Lost City Of Z.

4. Stonehearst Asylum

Stonehearst Asylum Movie Poster

Stonehearst Asylum is a gothic film. If you're looking for something a little more dark, then you might find yourself enjoying Stonehearst Asylum. The movie is based off of a story by Edgar Allen Poe, and what's more gothic than Poe?

3. Good Boys

Good Boys Movie Poster
Good Boys is basically the movie Superbad but set in the 6th grade. The humor is a bit raunchy in some parts and I want to make this clear, this movie is NOT for kids. I know kids art starring in Good Boys, but the humor leans more adult. With that said, if you enjoyed Superbad, you'll probably find yourself enjoying Good Boys.

2. ReMastered: Devil At The Crossroads

ReMastered: Devil At The Crossroads is an excellent Documentary on Netflix. It tells the life story of the famous Blues artist, Robert Johnson. ReMastered: Devil At The Crossroads is a bit on the shorter side, but I think the length of this film is perfect for a Documentary. If you're up for a little music documentary, then I'd suggest checking this one out.

1. Casablanca

Casablanca is an excellent classic film. I know it has it's own genre's it fits in, but I'm labeling it as a classic because well, it is. If you love movies, Casablanca is a must see film. It has action, comedy, romance, wit, and style. It's perhaps one of the best films ever made. I can't think of a better way to end this list than by watching Casablanca.

Uncharted Movie Review

Uncharted Movie Review Not As Good As The Games I went and saw the movie Uncharted a while ago, and it was as I expected it to be. If you are a fan of the games, well... prepare for disappointment. Uncharted follows Nathan Drake (Tom Holland), a low level thief as he is recruited by Victor Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) to go on a treasure hunt. As someone who has played some of the games, but not all, I have to say that the Uncharted film is what I thought it would be. A mishmash of all four games but not committing to any of them. The acting is a bit stale, and the plot is predictable. The camera work was fine, but the music was underused. Tom Holland should not have been Nathan Drake. He lacks the charisma, the attitude, and the charm. He may have passed for a teenage Nathan Drake, but he should have only been in a few scenes. I'm not the biggest fan of Tom Holland either long time readers may know. Now, onto Mark Wahlberg as Victor Sullivan. Mark Wahlberg is way too young to be playi

Coda Movie Review

Coda Movie Review This Deserved Best Picture So, I just got back from seeing Coda, and it was amazing! This was the second attempt to see this film as the first time, someone booked the entire theater for a private screening. I'm going to take from a summary from IMDB to summarize the plot: " As a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) Ruby is the only hearing person in her deaf family. When the family's fishing business is threatened, Ruby finds herself torn between pursuing her passion at Berklee College of Music and her fear of abandoning her parents." The acting was  phenomenal, the  cinematography was beautiful, and the story was human. The way this film is crafted is nothing short but excellent. I will not that not everything is 100% accurate, but for narrative reasons, I understand the choices they made. The actors have amazing chemistry together. Everything feels natural between them and they all bring their characters to life. No performance fell flat. I perhaps would
