A Star Is Born Movie Review

A Star Is Born was a good movie, and I was surprised to find out that Bradley Cooper was the director for this film.

A Star Is Born follows Jackson Maine (Bradley Cooper) as he is a professional musician. One night he stumbles into a bar and hears a girl singing. This girl is named Ally (Lady GaGa) and the two of them hit it off great! They are perfect for each other and their romance blooms along with Ally's rise to stardom.
This movie has already gained favorable reviews, and I can see why. Lady GaGa is a fantastic actress, and Bradley Cooper delivers yet again another strong performance. I was surprised to see Sam Elliott in this movie. I didn't watch to many of the trailers, but from what I gathered, I didn't expect to see him in this film. I would also like to note, that all of the supporting cast did a fine job as well.
I was very surprised to find out that this movie was directed by Bradley Cooper. I'm not exactly sure how many movies he has directed besides this one, but I'm very happy with his skills as a director. I would love to see him develop his skills more.
Now onto the music for A Star is Born , I'm very happy with this soundtrack. The music is almost a character in and of itself. I can understand if you would want to purchase the soundtrack for this film, as it really is great.
A Star Is Born is a great movie, but it does drag a little bit in the middle of the film. I felt like they could have cut maybe 10 minutes or so from the final cut, but that's my only major gripe about this film.
Would I recommend seeing it? Yes, I think I would, but just remember that this is sort of a musical film. Yet this is not a musical itself. If you're into these kinds of films then I would tell you to go out and see, A Star Is Born.

final score: 4/5

Uncharted Movie Review

Uncharted Movie Review Not As Good As The Games I went and saw the movie Uncharted a while ago, and it was as I expected it to be. If you are a fan of the games, well... prepare for disappointment. Uncharted follows Nathan Drake (Tom Holland), a low level thief as he is recruited by Victor Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) to go on a treasure hunt. As someone who has played some of the games, but not all, I have to say that the Uncharted film is what I thought it would be. A mishmash of all four games but not committing to any of them. The acting is a bit stale, and the plot is predictable. The camera work was fine, but the music was underused. Tom Holland should not have been Nathan Drake. He lacks the charisma, the attitude, and the charm. He may have passed for a teenage Nathan Drake, but he should have only been in a few scenes. I'm not the biggest fan of Tom Holland either long time readers may know. Now, onto Mark Wahlberg as Victor Sullivan. Mark Wahlberg is way too young to be playi...

Dora and the Lost City of Gold Movie Review

Dora and the Lost City of Gold Movie Review This Was My Dad's Idea Well... I went and saw Dora and the Lost City of Gold today with my dad, and... the film was a lot funnier than it has any right to be. Dora and the Lost City of Gold is a live action adaptation of the Dora tv show on Nickelodeon. Dora, now a teenager, is sent to the City to live with her cousin, Diego, while her parents go exploring for a lost City. When her parents go missing, Dora and her new friends go and search for her parents. I can't believe I'm going to say this, but the movie wasn't half bad. There is a ton of tongue and cheek humor. There is some cringe to the Dora and the Lost City of Gold too, but remember, this is a movie made for kids. As a kids film, it does a fine job. The acting was fine, and for a kids film, everyone did alright. Isabela Moner, who played Dora, did a good job portraying the character from what I remember about the show when I was very young. What surprised...

Penny Dreadful City Of Angels Season 1 Episode 1 Review

Penny Dreadful City Of Angels Season 1 Episode 1 Review  Had To Think About This One A Bit If you haven't noticed, I'm a fan of Penny Dreadful . I did address my early thoughts on the new series a little while ago , and now that it's out, I thought I would give my thoughts on the first episode. For the description I'm going to quote IMDB , " Los Angeles, 1938. LAPD detective Tiago Vega and his partner, Lewis Michener, investigate a murder. While at City Hall, Tiago's activist brother Raul Vega battles with the fiery Councilman Charlton Townsend over the construction of California's first freeway. Meanwhile, Peter Craft, the head of the German-American Bun, meets Elsa, the mysterious mother of one of his patients. Sensing danger, Tiago's mother Maria pleads with Santa Muerte to protect her family as the rising tensions in the city threaten to explode." From what I've seen from other reviewers has been very mixed. And here's my two...
