31 Posts Of Halloween: As Above So Below

As Above So Below is a 2014 horror film that takes inspiration from Dante's Inferno, but this movie doesn't live up to Dante.

Alright I'll admit that as of writing this I have not read the Divine Comedy yet, however I do know a bit about it.
As Above So Below follows Scarlett and her team as they search for the philosophers stone in the catacombs of Paris, but they unexpectedly end up in Hell.
So, this movie had a really cool concept of basically adapting Dante's Inferno to the big screen, but it fell flat. For a horror movie, it's not that scary. Yet the way it's presented is somewhat interesting, but they really could have done more to bring the sets alive.
The music is good in this film at creating an eerie atmosphere.
The only really scary parts of this film are towards the end, when all the freaky stuff starts to happen. It would be very good as well, except that the editing is for crap. I don't mind found footage, but when that's mixed with an unhealthy dose of shaky cam, it just ends up looking terrible.
As Above So Below is an interesting concept, but it falls flat in more ways than one. What a real missed opportunity they had here.

final score: 2.7/5

Dora and the Lost City of Gold Movie Review

Dora and the Lost City of Gold Movie Review This Was My Dad's Idea Well... I went and saw Dora and the Lost City of Gold today with my dad, and... the film was a lot funnier than it has any right to be. Dora and the Lost City of Gold is a live action adaptation of the Dora tv show on Nickelodeon. Dora, now a teenager, is sent to the City to live with her cousin, Diego, while her parents go exploring for a lost City. When her parents go missing, Dora and her new friends go and search for her parents. I can't believe I'm going to say this, but the movie wasn't half bad. There is a ton of tongue and cheek humor. There is some cringe to the Dora and the Lost City of Gold too, but remember, this is a movie made for kids. As a kids film, it does a fine job. The acting was fine, and for a kids film, everyone did alright. Isabela Moner, who played Dora, did a good job portraying the character from what I remember about the show when I was very young. What surprised...

Norsemen Netflix Show Review So Far

Norsemen Netflix Show Review So Far The funniest show I've seen in years I've been watching a show on Netflix called Norsemen, and I swear this is the funniest show I've seen in years! I can't understate how funny this show can really be, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say about 90% of the jokes land. Norsemen starts off in 790 AD, and follows a few Vikings and their slaves. The show goes through their lives and their trials, but it's done with a comedic spin. If you haven't yet, watch the trailer above to get a better idea of the show. I will say this, this show reminds me of Monty Python ! Some of the jokes Norsemen  are gut busting, and will almost have you rolling on the floor laughing. In an age of bad comedies this show is gold.  I just started watching season 2 the other day, and I just want to keep watching. The episodes are about a half hour long each, and it's the perfect time frame to get the story across. I wouldn't c...
