A Charming Canadian Indie Film

Still Mine is an Indie Canadian Film which came out in 2012 and it was so fun to watch and it had so much charm to it.
Still Mine Follows an old man named Craig (James Cromwell) as he wants to build a small house for himself and his wife Irene (GeneviĆØve Bujold) who has Alzheimer's. Yet as Craig is building their house on his own land, he ends up in a sort of legal battle as he isn't complying with all the regulations.
I really found myself enjoying Still Mine. The acting was done well. James Cromwell is a great actor already, and really liked him in this roll. I personally think this is one of the highlights of his career, but it acts as a sort of hidden gem. The pacing of the film felt appropriate and not to long.
There was a simplicity about the film which I absolutely loved. The story was straight forward and the characters were relatable. It seemed like a fantastic film. Still Mine ticks all the boxes for doing a simple film right.
As I stated before, James Cromwell did such a fantastic job in Still Mine. He looks like one of those actors you know you've seen before but you might not remember where. Well he was also in Babe, and L.A. Confidential. I also want to applaud GeneviĆØve Bujold, as she did a great job as well. There really wasn't a bad performance in the film.
If you want to watch a charming little indie film, then give Still Mine a chance. I think this is one of those hidden gems, and for me, Still Mine didn't disappoint.

final score: 4.3/5

Uncharted Movie Review

Uncharted Movie Review Not As Good As The Games I went and saw the movie Uncharted a while ago, and it was as I expected it to be. If you are a fan of the games, well... prepare for disappointment. Uncharted follows Nathan Drake (Tom Holland), a low level thief as he is recruited by Victor Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) to go on a treasure hunt. As someone who has played some of the games, but not all, I have to say that the Uncharted film is what I thought it would be. A mishmash of all four games but not committing to any of them. The acting is a bit stale, and the plot is predictable. The camera work was fine, but the music was underused. Tom Holland should not have been Nathan Drake. He lacks the charisma, the attitude, and the charm. He may have passed for a teenage Nathan Drake, but he should have only been in a few scenes. I'm not the biggest fan of Tom Holland either long time readers may know. Now, onto Mark Wahlberg as Victor Sullivan. Mark Wahlberg is way too young to be playi...

Dora and the Lost City of Gold Movie Review

Dora and the Lost City of Gold Movie Review This Was My Dad's Idea Well... I went and saw Dora and the Lost City of Gold today with my dad, and... the film was a lot funnier than it has any right to be. Dora and the Lost City of Gold is a live action adaptation of the Dora tv show on Nickelodeon. Dora, now a teenager, is sent to the City to live with her cousin, Diego, while her parents go exploring for a lost City. When her parents go missing, Dora and her new friends go and search for her parents. I can't believe I'm going to say this, but the movie wasn't half bad. There is a ton of tongue and cheek humor. There is some cringe to the Dora and the Lost City of Gold too, but remember, this is a movie made for kids. As a kids film, it does a fine job. The acting was fine, and for a kids film, everyone did alright. Isabela Moner, who played Dora, did a good job portraying the character from what I remember about the show when I was very young. What surprised...

Penny Dreadful City Of Angels Season 1 Episode 1 Review

Penny Dreadful City Of Angels Season 1 Episode 1 Review  Had To Think About This One A Bit If you haven't noticed, I'm a fan of Penny Dreadful . I did address my early thoughts on the new series a little while ago , and now that it's out, I thought I would give my thoughts on the first episode. For the description I'm going to quote IMDB , " Los Angeles, 1938. LAPD detective Tiago Vega and his partner, Lewis Michener, investigate a murder. While at City Hall, Tiago's activist brother Raul Vega battles with the fiery Councilman Charlton Townsend over the construction of California's first freeway. Meanwhile, Peter Craft, the head of the German-American Bun, meets Elsa, the mysterious mother of one of his patients. Sensing danger, Tiago's mother Maria pleads with Santa Muerte to protect her family as the rising tensions in the city threaten to explode." From what I've seen from other reviewers has been very mixed. And here's my two...
