Apparently There's Going To Be Another Hunger Games Film & Book

There I was just scrolling through twitter like a good lad when something caught my attention, "Could it be?" I thought to myself. I clicked on the article which laid before my very eyes and it was true, we are about to get another addition to The Hunger Games franchise!
A little background with my love for the series, I grew up at the right time when this was popular. I read the books before the movies came out. I was an instant fan. The series introduced me to the post apocalyptic genre of literature. I have since gone on to read other books in the genre, but The Hunger Games will always hold a special place in my heart for introducing me to it. I was probably in sixth grade when I first picked up the book, I might be a year off, but it was around sixth grade.
Anyways when the movies came out, I was pumped! Though they do have their problems, and I'll be the first to admit they're far from perfect, I did however enjoy myself.
Suzanne Collins apparently is now working on a prequel set 64 years before the original story. I'm a little excited, but a little nervous. It's been a few years since she's worked on the series, so I'm 50/50 on how this could turn out.
But apparently, Lionsgate has already decided they'll make the movie for this unpublished book. That's pretty quick timing. However it's not unexpected due to how much they made off of the franchise. I just hope they won't rush the film and make a sloppy movie. It would be interesting if they made this new prequel rated R, which could you imagine a rated R Hunger Games film? Damn that would be intense!
Love or hate the series, it's undeniable how The Hunger Games affected Pop Culture. I'm intrigued to see how this new book and movie will affect the culture once more.

  1. I'm pretty excited too to be honest! I thought the set up for the story was really interesting, and I'm happy to see that elaborated on.

Uncharted Movie Review

Uncharted Movie Review Not As Good As The Games I went and saw the movie Uncharted a while ago, and it was as I expected it to be. If you are a fan of the games, well... prepare for disappointment. Uncharted follows Nathan Drake (Tom Holland), a low level thief as he is recruited by Victor Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) to go on a treasure hunt. As someone who has played some of the games, but not all, I have to say that the Uncharted film is what I thought it would be. A mishmash of all four games but not committing to any of them. The acting is a bit stale, and the plot is predictable. The camera work was fine, but the music was underused. Tom Holland should not have been Nathan Drake. He lacks the charisma, the attitude, and the charm. He may have passed for a teenage Nathan Drake, but he should have only been in a few scenes. I'm not the biggest fan of Tom Holland either long time readers may know. Now, onto Mark Wahlberg as Victor Sullivan. Mark Wahlberg is way too young to be playi...

Dora and the Lost City of Gold Movie Review

Dora and the Lost City of Gold Movie Review This Was My Dad's Idea Well... I went and saw Dora and the Lost City of Gold today with my dad, and... the film was a lot funnier than it has any right to be. Dora and the Lost City of Gold is a live action adaptation of the Dora tv show on Nickelodeon. Dora, now a teenager, is sent to the City to live with her cousin, Diego, while her parents go exploring for a lost City. When her parents go missing, Dora and her new friends go and search for her parents. I can't believe I'm going to say this, but the movie wasn't half bad. There is a ton of tongue and cheek humor. There is some cringe to the Dora and the Lost City of Gold too, but remember, this is a movie made for kids. As a kids film, it does a fine job. The acting was fine, and for a kids film, everyone did alright. Isabela Moner, who played Dora, did a good job portraying the character from what I remember about the show when I was very young. What surprised...

Penny Dreadful City Of Angels Season 1 Episode 1 Review

Penny Dreadful City Of Angels Season 1 Episode 1 Review  Had To Think About This One A Bit If you haven't noticed, I'm a fan of Penny Dreadful . I did address my early thoughts on the new series a little while ago , and now that it's out, I thought I would give my thoughts on the first episode. For the description I'm going to quote IMDB , " Los Angeles, 1938. LAPD detective Tiago Vega and his partner, Lewis Michener, investigate a murder. While at City Hall, Tiago's activist brother Raul Vega battles with the fiery Councilman Charlton Townsend over the construction of California's first freeway. Meanwhile, Peter Craft, the head of the German-American Bun, meets Elsa, the mysterious mother of one of his patients. Sensing danger, Tiago's mother Maria pleads with Santa Muerte to protect her family as the rising tensions in the city threaten to explode." From what I've seen from other reviewers has been very mixed. And here's my two...
