Thoughts On The Upcoming Series

I've been loosely following the upcoming sequel series to Penny Dreadful, Penny Dreadful City Of Angels. Some first look shots have come about as of recent. It appears as though Natalie Dormer is in the cast and I'm pretty happy about that. She's a good actress and it's nice to see her in another series since Game of Thrones. Though I don't know how she will stack up against Eva Green's fantastic performance in the original series.
Just looking at these first few images, the tone of the series looks like it will be different. I'm going to go into this series with caution. I don't doubt Natalie Dormer's acting prowess, but I am concerned how the story will go moving forward.
The original Penny Dreadful series did a fantastic job of blending gothic literature of Dracula, Frankenstein, etc. into one great show. I am wondering how they will blend elements into the new series since it takes place in the 1930s.
It also appears there may be some political undertones to the series. This is not a political blog, and I check my own politics when watching a movie or show (unless it's explicitly a political film) whether I personally agree or disagree with it. I judge a show or movie based on it's entertainment value. I do find the inclusion of politics to be annoying though, again, that includes if I agree or disagree with it. I'm less concerned about the politics though and more concerned with how they will handle the story. I'm sad to see them move away from the gothic aspect of the series and this is what made the original show great in it's inception along with a splendid cast.
I hope the show will be good, but again, I'm cautious going into the series.

Norsemen Netflix Show Review So Far

Norsemen Netflix Show Review So Far The funniest show I've seen in years I've been watching a show on Netflix called Norsemen, and I swear this is the funniest show I've seen in years! I can't understate how funny this show can really be, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say about 90% of the jokes land. Norsemen starts off in 790 AD, and follows a few Vikings and their slaves. The show goes through their lives and their trials, but it's done with a comedic spin. If you haven't yet, watch the trailer above to get a better idea of the show. I will say this, this show reminds me of Monty Python ! Some of the jokes Norsemen  are gut busting, and will almost have you rolling on the floor laughing. In an age of bad comedies this show is gold.  I just started watching season 2 the other day, and I just want to keep watching. The episodes are about a half hour long each, and it's the perfect time frame to get the story across. I wouldn't c...

Coda Movie Review

Coda Movie Review This Deserved Best Picture So, I just got back from seeing Coda, and it was amazing! This was the second attempt to see this film as the first time, someone booked the entire theater for a private screening. I'm going to take from a summary from IMDB to summarize the plot: " As a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) Ruby is the only hearing person in her deaf family. When the family's fishing business is threatened, Ruby finds herself torn between pursuing her passion at Berklee College of Music and her fear of abandoning her parents." The acting was  phenomenal, the  cinematography was beautiful, and the story was human. The way this film is crafted is nothing short but excellent. I will not that not everything is 100% accurate, but for narrative reasons, I understand the choices they made. The actors have amazing chemistry together. Everything feels natural between them and they all bring their characters to life. No per...
