Bright Netflix Movie Review

So a few days ago I saw the movie Bright on Netflix, staring Will Smith and Joel Edgerton, and this was a good movie.
This is an urban fantasy film that follows Daryl Ward (Will Smith) a human and Nick Jakoby (Joel Edgerton) an orc, as two cops that find a magic wand and an elf girl named Tikka (Lucy Fry) and everyone is trying to get the wand.
The movie is effective at what it does and it is highly enjoyable. The comedy is great, and it hits almost every time. The more emotional moments hit pretty well for the most part. The action is really well done, and was a thrill to watch.
The dynamics of Ward and Jakoby are interesting, because they do go through a interesting arc together and it is portrayed in an effective way that shows growth in their characters.
The music in this movie is well done, but could have been improved in certain areas, but for the most part it works. The lighting, with it's contrast between light and dark, is very effective and fits the movie well overall.
The cameramen must have had a lot of fun working on this, because there are some really fun shots in this movie.
From what I heard, Netflix is making a sequel to this movie, and I would watch it if they make it as good as this one was. Bright is a good action movie that has well timed jokes and has heart at times, though it's not a perfect film, it is a highly enjoyable film that, to me looks like it is a rewatchable movie. It's nice to see Will Smith in a movie, it's been awhile since I last saw him in something. This one is worth watching and I would recommend it to almost anyone.

final score: 4/5

Coda Movie Review

Coda Movie Review This Deserved Best Picture So, I just got back from seeing Coda, and it was amazing! This was the second attempt to see this film as the first time, someone booked the entire theater for a private screening. I'm going to take from a summary from IMDB to summarize the plot: " As a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) Ruby is the only hearing person in her deaf family. When the family's fishing business is threatened, Ruby finds herself torn between pursuing her passion at Berklee College of Music and her fear of abandoning her parents." The acting was  phenomenal, the  cinematography was beautiful, and the story was human. The way this film is crafted is nothing short but excellent. I will not that not everything is 100% accurate, but for narrative reasons, I understand the choices they made. The actors have amazing chemistry together. Everything feels natural between them and they all bring their characters to life. No per...
