Yesterday Movie Review

Yesterday Movie Review A Charming Film About The Beatles Music I just got out of seeing the film, Yesterday, with a buddy of mine. Honestly, the both of us found the movie to be charming and well natured overall. A struggling  musician named Jack ( Himesh Patel ) is one night struck by a bus during a power outage, and get hits by a bus. Once the lights turn back on, everyone except him forgets The Beatles. He does the logical thing and takes the songs he remembers and becomes a rising star. While at the same time figuring out his relationship with his manager/friend Ellie ( Lily James ) as he rises to fame and discovering the important things in life. Like I said earlier, the film is charming. I don't really understand why other critics are scoring the film so low, as I found it to be enjoyable. Sure I don't expect Yesterday to win any Oscars but it's a fun time at the movies.  Himesh Patel does a good job playing Jack and he really sells his character. It'

Toy Story 4 Movie Review

Toy Story 4 Movie Review Pretty Good I went and saw Toy Story 4 today with one of my friends and overall the movie was pretty good. I don't think it was necessary, but it was still a good time. Toy Story 4 follows Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the gang as they go on a road trip with Bonnie their new kid and her new toy, Forky. Forky doesn't want to accept he's a toy and tries to run away. Woody tries to get him back to Bonnie before she continues on with the road trip. I don't think this movie was really necessary as the ending of Toy Story 3 was perfect. Granted, I still had a good time with this film. One thing I did not expect about this movie was how funny it was. There are some really good laugh out loud jokes in this film. They occur when you least expect it, and it knocks it out of the park.  Some of the toys are a little creepy in certain scenes. So, I just wanted to give you a heads up about that. Also there are one or two scenes that tend to be a

Bad Times At The El Royale Movie Review

Bad Times At The El Royale Movie Review A Very Tarantino-esque Film  Yeah I know, I know, this movie came out last year. But I didn't get the chance to see it last year so I'm doing the review for it now. Bad Times At The El Royale follows a group of strangers as they stay at a hotel which is on the border of California and Nevada. Each guest has a very different background from one another, but not everything is as it seems at the El Royale. I left the description vague cause if you haven't seen the film yet, there would have been spoilers if I'd written more. Bad Times At The El Royale was a strange film. Good, but strange. I think it works towards the films advantage in the end. The Director of Bad Times At The El Royale , Drew Goddard , did a fine job. I believe this is one of his few directorial roles. As mentioned in the subheading of this review, the film is very Tarantino-esque. If you told me Quentin had directed this film instead of Drew Goddard, I

Apparently There's Going To Be Another Hunger Games Film & Book

Apparently There's Going To Be Another Hunger Games Film & Book There I was just scrolling through twitter like a good lad when something caught my attention, "Could it be?" I thought to myself. I clicked on the article  which laid before my very eyes and it was true, we are about to get another addition to The Hunger Games franchise! A little background with my love for the series, I grew up at the right time when this was popular. I read the books before the movies came out. I was an instant fan. The series introduced me to the post apocalyptic genre of literature. I have since gone on to read other books in the genre , but The Hunger Games will always hold a special place in my heart for introducing me to it. I was probably in sixth grade when I first picked up the book, I might be a year off, but it was around sixth grade.  Anyways when the movies came out, I was pumped! Though they do have their problems, and I'll be the first to admit they're

Men In Black International Movie Review

Men In Black International Movie Review AKA Paint By Numbers, The Movie I'm going to keep this review brief. Men In Black International is such a lazy film it's almost painful, please don't see it. Men In Black International follows a new member to the Men In Black as they have to save the world. There's really not much more to the plot. It's boring and predictable. There's no character development. The characters are pretty much the same from beginning to end. They are very forgettable and this was obviously just a paycheck for everyone involved. There was little to no effort placed in the film. If you do decide to watch it notice this, POSSIBLE MINOR SPOILER WARNING, but who cares. There's a scene where the two characters in the poster above are in a desert. There is nothing around them but sand for miles on end, but they somehow found wood to make a fire at night with no trees in sight. There was no effort in this film. I know I'm repea

Still Mine Movie Review

Still Mine Movie Review A Charming Canadian Indie Film Still Mine is an Indie Canadian Film which came out in 2012 and it was so fun to watch and it had so much charm to it. Still Mine Follows an old man named Craig ( James Cromwell ) as he wants to build a small house for himself and his wife Irene ( Geneviève Bujold ) who has Alzheimer's. Yet as Craig is building their house on his own land, he ends up in a sort of legal battle as he isn't complying with all the regulations. I really found myself enjoying Still Mine . The acting was done well. James Cromwell is a great actor already, and really liked him in this roll. I personally think this is one of the highlights of his career, but it acts as a sort of hidden gem. The pacing of the film felt appropriate and not to long. There was a simplicity about the film which I absolutely loved. The story was straight forward and the characters were relatable. It seemed like a fantastic film. Still Mine ticks all the box
