Journey's End Movie Review

Journey's End Movie Review

A Beautifully Tragic WWI Film

Journey's End is a beautifully tragic film set in the trenches of the first World War, or at the time, The Great War.
Journey's End follows a group of British Army officers as they hold their position on the front lines. Any day now, they're expecting an attack from the Germans. How long can they hold out before the enemy attacks?
I've surprisingly found myself enjoying WWI Films as of late. I'm happy to say, I can add Journey's End to the list of great films. I will however warn you dear reader, this is very depressing by the end.
The acting in Journey's End is top notch. The entire cast did a fantastic job in my opinion and I applaud all of them. They really brought their characters to life.
The somber feeling of WWI is felt the moment the film steps into the trenches. There's always a nervousness about it, because you never know if the enemy will attack. Journey's End has done an excellent job of creating tension.
When I found this film, I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. I'm happy with how Journey's End held my attention from beginning, to the very end.

final score: 4.4/5

Coda Movie Review

Coda Movie Review This Deserved Best Picture So, I just got back from seeing Coda, and it was amazing! This was the second attempt to see this film as the first time, someone booked the entire theater for a private screening. I'm going to take from a summary from IMDB to summarize the plot: " As a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) Ruby is the only hearing person in her deaf family. When the family's fishing business is threatened, Ruby finds herself torn between pursuing her passion at Berklee College of Music and her fear of abandoning her parents." The acting was  phenomenal, the  cinematography was beautiful, and the story was human. The way this film is crafted is nothing short but excellent. I will not that not everything is 100% accurate, but for narrative reasons, I understand the choices they made. The actors have amazing chemistry together. Everything feels natural between them and they all bring their characters to life. No per...
