Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets Movie Review

So I just saw Valerian with a friend and I have to say it was a pretty enjoyable film to watch, a fun adventure film.
The comedy was great for most of the film and there were some good laughs all in all.
Valerian (played by Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (played by Cara Delevingne) were well acted characters. It would be fun to watch them go on more adventures again. I would actually be fun as a tv series on a premium network, but if they make more movies I plan on watching them.
The soundtrack was good but not outstanding.
The opening sequence of the film was very well done showing the progress of people into the future of diplomacy.
The design of the aliens was pretty interesting.
The animation was truly spectacular, and the animators should be nominated for some awards.
The relationship of Valerian and Laureline did not always seem natural but they made a good pair overall.
So for the most part it was a pretty good film, and it does have rewatch value that is greatly appreciated.

final score: 3.7/5

Coda Movie Review

Coda Movie Review This Deserved Best Picture So, I just got back from seeing Coda, and it was amazing! This was the second attempt to see this film as the first time, someone booked the entire theater for a private screening. I'm going to take from a summary from IMDB to summarize the plot: " As a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) Ruby is the only hearing person in her deaf family. When the family's fishing business is threatened, Ruby finds herself torn between pursuing her passion at Berklee College of Music and her fear of abandoning her parents." The acting was  phenomenal, the  cinematography was beautiful, and the story was human. The way this film is crafted is nothing short but excellent. I will not that not everything is 100% accurate, but for narrative reasons, I understand the choices they made. The actors have amazing chemistry together. Everything feels natural between them and they all bring their characters to life. No per...
