Dunkirk Movie Review

I just got back from Dunkirk, which I watched with a friend. I have to say that this Film has almost left me speechless, so that is why I'm writing my thoughts of this Film down.
From the very start my heart was pounding, and my heart kept on pounding until the credits of this gorgeous Film.
At some moments I started to tear up a bit because of how impactful this Film can make you feel. From the very start you are thrown in to the Events of Dunkirk.
This Film is not about following a specific character arch from start to finish, no, it is about an event and what happened to the people in that event.
Each and every actor gave their best in this Film, from what I saw. They really became the characters that they were portraying.
The music score was produced by Hans Zimmer. It is a masterpiece of sound that fills the ears with the tension of the scenes and the anticipation of what is happening and what is to become of the men at Dunkirk.
Writer and Director Christopher Nolan did such an amazing job with this Film that I'm going to say it probably is the best picture of his career so far.
The dramatic colors of blue and orange, are blended perfectly in this Film, and all the other colors bring it full front, to let you know that this is happening.
There is a level of Heroism given by the British in the tragic event that took place, that makes you completely invested into what you are seeing.
A minor spoiler for the Film that I noticed is that you do not see the face of one German until the Film is about to wrap up.
This is a beautiful piece of art that deserves to be appreciated by those whom receive the pleasure of experiencing this masterpiece of art.
In some way I almost feel honored to have watched this Film, because any student of Film will want study this with great anticipation.
When award season comes up, this Film, this masterpiece of art has earned it's spot as best picture. I can't wait to buy this Film when it comes out on DVD.

final score: 5/5

Uncharted Movie Review

Uncharted Movie Review Not As Good As The Games I went and saw the movie Uncharted a while ago, and it was as I expected it to be. If you are a fan of the games, well... prepare for disappointment. Uncharted follows Nathan Drake (Tom Holland), a low level thief as he is recruited by Victor Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) to go on a treasure hunt. As someone who has played some of the games, but not all, I have to say that the Uncharted film is what I thought it would be. A mishmash of all four games but not committing to any of them. The acting is a bit stale, and the plot is predictable. The camera work was fine, but the music was underused. Tom Holland should not have been Nathan Drake. He lacks the charisma, the attitude, and the charm. He may have passed for a teenage Nathan Drake, but he should have only been in a few scenes. I'm not the biggest fan of Tom Holland either long time readers may know. Now, onto Mark Wahlberg as Victor Sullivan. Mark Wahlberg is way too young to be playi...

Dora and the Lost City of Gold Movie Review

Dora and the Lost City of Gold Movie Review This Was My Dad's Idea Well... I went and saw Dora and the Lost City of Gold today with my dad, and... the film was a lot funnier than it has any right to be. Dora and the Lost City of Gold is a live action adaptation of the Dora tv show on Nickelodeon. Dora, now a teenager, is sent to the City to live with her cousin, Diego, while her parents go exploring for a lost City. When her parents go missing, Dora and her new friends go and search for her parents. I can't believe I'm going to say this, but the movie wasn't half bad. There is a ton of tongue and cheek humor. There is some cringe to the Dora and the Lost City of Gold too, but remember, this is a movie made for kids. As a kids film, it does a fine job. The acting was fine, and for a kids film, everyone did alright. Isabela Moner, who played Dora, did a good job portraying the character from what I remember about the show when I was very young. What surprised...

Penny Dreadful City Of Angels Season 1 Episode 1 Review

Penny Dreadful City Of Angels Season 1 Episode 1 Review  Had To Think About This One A Bit If you haven't noticed, I'm a fan of Penny Dreadful . I did address my early thoughts on the new series a little while ago , and now that it's out, I thought I would give my thoughts on the first episode. For the description I'm going to quote IMDB , " Los Angeles, 1938. LAPD detective Tiago Vega and his partner, Lewis Michener, investigate a murder. While at City Hall, Tiago's activist brother Raul Vega battles with the fiery Councilman Charlton Townsend over the construction of California's first freeway. Meanwhile, Peter Craft, the head of the German-American Bun, meets Elsa, the mysterious mother of one of his patients. Sensing danger, Tiago's mother Maria pleads with Santa Muerte to protect her family as the rising tensions in the city threaten to explode." From what I've seen from other reviewers has been very mixed. And here's my two...
