The Conjuring The Devil Made Me Do It Movie Review

Good, But Not Great

I went and saw The Conjuring The Devil Made Me Do It the other day with one of my friends, and it was a good movie. Not a great movie, but good.

The Conjuring The Devil Made Me Do It continues The Conjuring Universe in this new installment where Ed and Lorraine Warren (Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga) face off against a new demon, but perhaps something more.

The Conjuring The Devil Made Me Do It is based off the real trial ofArne Cheyenne Johnson. I'm not reviewing the accuracy of the film to the true events, I'm judging the film by itself. With that said, Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga both did a fantastic job once again. I was a little disappointed that James Wan didn't direct this film, but Michael Chaves did an alright job.

The camera work was pretty solid. The music was good. The color scheme was fitting for the film. It was pretty well done on a technical side. However, there were maybe one or two shots I would have cut. They were very brief and didn't impact the film.

All of the actors did a fine job with what they were given. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga did a great job as always. Those two have great chemistry together and I hope to see them in future installments in The Conjuring Universe.

Given that this is a main title in The Conjuring Universe I was surprised that James Wan didn't direct The Conjuring The Devil Made Me Do It. I was glad that he was involved in some aspect still. Michael Chaves  looked as though he was trying to mimic James Wan's style for the series, but you can tell there is something different. Though Michael Chaves did hold his own in this franchise, it wasn't the best Conjuring film, nor did he push the boundaries for this franchise. It felt as if he was playing it safe.

The Conjuring The Devil Made Me Do It is a good addition to The Conjuring Universe. It's not a one of the best films, but it's not one of the worst either. I think The Conjuring The Devil Made Me Do It ranks somewhere in the middle. If you're a fan of The Conjuring Universe, then I would recommend going to see The Conjuring The Devil Made Me Do It.

Dora and the Lost City of Gold Movie Review

Dora and the Lost City of Gold Movie Review This Was My Dad's Idea Well... I went and saw Dora and the Lost City of Gold today with my dad, and... the film was a lot funnier than it has any right to be. Dora and the Lost City of Gold is a live action adaptation of the Dora tv show on Nickelodeon. Dora, now a teenager, is sent to the City to live with her cousin, Diego, while her parents go exploring for a lost City. When her parents go missing, Dora and her new friends go and search for her parents. I can't believe I'm going to say this, but the movie wasn't half bad. There is a ton of tongue and cheek humor. There is some cringe to the Dora and the Lost City of Gold too, but remember, this is a movie made for kids. As a kids film, it does a fine job. The acting was fine, and for a kids film, everyone did alright. Isabela Moner, who played Dora, did a good job portraying the character from what I remember about the show when I was very young. What surprised...

Uncharted Movie Review

Uncharted Movie Review Not As Good As The Games I went and saw the movie Uncharted a while ago, and it was as I expected it to be. If you are a fan of the games, well... prepare for disappointment. Uncharted follows Nathan Drake (Tom Holland), a low level thief as he is recruited by Victor Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) to go on a treasure hunt. As someone who has played some of the games, but not all, I have to say that the Uncharted film is what I thought it would be. A mishmash of all four games but not committing to any of them. The acting is a bit stale, and the plot is predictable. The camera work was fine, but the music was underused. Tom Holland should not have been Nathan Drake. He lacks the charisma, the attitude, and the charm. He may have passed for a teenage Nathan Drake, but he should have only been in a few scenes. I'm not the biggest fan of Tom Holland either long time readers may know. Now, onto Mark Wahlberg as Victor Sullivan. Mark Wahlberg is way too young to be playi...
