Rough Night Movie Review

So last night with one of my friends, we went and saw the film Rough Night, and well... It surpassed my expectations.
I only saw the trailer once or twice about a month ago, so I did not really remember much about it. When my friend and I saw it last night we both thought that it would be just a dumb party movie with cheap laughs. just a 2/5 film, but we were oh so wrong.
I will admit that it does start out like just another party film but when it gets to the part were they kill the striper, then it gets oh so good.
I was also surprised to see Bo Burnham! I love his work!
Also Lucia Aniello who wrote (and she also directed) this film with Paul W. Downs, they did a fantastic job with this script! Paul W. Downs also played the bachelor in this film, and I must say he did an impressive job with his comedy.
I also have to applaud Scarlett Johansson, Jillian Bell, Zoƫ Kravitz, Ilana Glazer, and Kate McKinnon, they all did a fantastic job, and each gave us a good laugh throughout the film. Each of them brought such a level of comedic talent that is greatly appreciated.
One of my complaints though for the film is that some of the lines are kind of weak sometimes, but thankfully that is a rare occurrence. Most of the lines are delivered naturally and appear to be what that person would actually say.
I'm thinking that this is one of the surprise films of the year that more people should take the time to go out and see.

final score: 4/5

Uncharted Movie Review

Uncharted Movie Review Not As Good As The Games I went and saw the movie Uncharted a while ago, and it was as I expected it to be. If you are a fan of the games, well... prepare for disappointment. Uncharted follows Nathan Drake (Tom Holland), a low level thief as he is recruited by Victor Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) to go on a treasure hunt. As someone who has played some of the games, but not all, I have to say that the Uncharted film is what I thought it would be. A mishmash of all four games but not committing to any of them. The acting is a bit stale, and the plot is predictable. The camera work was fine, but the music was underused. Tom Holland should not have been Nathan Drake. He lacks the charisma, the attitude, and the charm. He may have passed for a teenage Nathan Drake, but he should have only been in a few scenes. I'm not the biggest fan of Tom Holland either long time readers may know. Now, onto Mark Wahlberg as Victor Sullivan. Mark Wahlberg is way too young to be playi...

Dora and the Lost City of Gold Movie Review

Dora and the Lost City of Gold Movie Review This Was My Dad's Idea Well... I went and saw Dora and the Lost City of Gold today with my dad, and... the film was a lot funnier than it has any right to be. Dora and the Lost City of Gold is a live action adaptation of the Dora tv show on Nickelodeon. Dora, now a teenager, is sent to the City to live with her cousin, Diego, while her parents go exploring for a lost City. When her parents go missing, Dora and her new friends go and search for her parents. I can't believe I'm going to say this, but the movie wasn't half bad. There is a ton of tongue and cheek humor. There is some cringe to the Dora and the Lost City of Gold too, but remember, this is a movie made for kids. As a kids film, it does a fine job. The acting was fine, and for a kids film, everyone did alright. Isabela Moner, who played Dora, did a good job portraying the character from what I remember about the show when I was very young. What surprised...

Penny Dreadful City Of Angels Season 1 Episode 1 Review

Penny Dreadful City Of Angels Season 1 Episode 1 Review  Had To Think About This One A Bit If you haven't noticed, I'm a fan of Penny Dreadful . I did address my early thoughts on the new series a little while ago , and now that it's out, I thought I would give my thoughts on the first episode. For the description I'm going to quote IMDB , " Los Angeles, 1938. LAPD detective Tiago Vega and his partner, Lewis Michener, investigate a murder. While at City Hall, Tiago's activist brother Raul Vega battles with the fiery Councilman Charlton Townsend over the construction of California's first freeway. Meanwhile, Peter Craft, the head of the German-American Bun, meets Elsa, the mysterious mother of one of his patients. Sensing danger, Tiago's mother Maria pleads with Santa Muerte to protect her family as the rising tensions in the city threaten to explode." From what I've seen from other reviewers has been very mixed. And here's my two...
