2022 Halloween Playlist Well, it's that time of year again! It's time for the Halloween Playlist! I'm happy to continue this tradition. So, like each year, I build on the list from the previous years. Maybe you'll find something to add to your Halloween playlist this year too!

Coda Movie Review

Coda Movie Review This Deserved Best Picture So, I just got back from seeing Coda, and it was amazing! This was the second attempt to see this film as the first time, someone booked the entire theater for a private screening. I'm going to take from a summary from IMDB to summarize the plot: " As a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) Ruby is the only hearing person in her deaf family. When the family's fishing business is threatened, Ruby finds herself torn between pursuing her passion at Berklee College of Music and her fear of abandoning her parents." The acting was  phenomenal, the  cinematography was beautiful, and the story was human. The way this film is crafted is nothing short but excellent. I will not that not everything is 100% accurate, but for narrative reasons, I understand the choices they made. The actors have amazing chemistry together. Everything feels natural between them and they all bring their characters to life. No per...

Sharing another cool song :)

Sharing another cool song :)  Alright guys, this is just going to be a short little post while I'm working on some more reviews, and some small plans for bonus content for the blog :) Hope you guys enjoy this song by, DragonForce! (The guitars in it are killer!)

Odd thing of the Day! (Not a Review today)

Odd thing of the Day! (Not a Review today) Just sharing a little music with you guys :)  So, today I'm not doing a normal review post. I thought I would change it up a little and just share a music video I found a couple of days ago. If you are into 80's rock/metal you'll probably like this, but here's the thing, and I swear the singers voice does not match his body on the first note he hits. It's kind of becoming a guilty pleasure song for me. More of my regular content should be coming out tomorrow. Have a good day everyone!

Why do people like Drake? (RANT)

Why do people like Drake? Can someone explain why people like this "rapper" Alright unless you've been sleeping under a rock for the past year or two, you've heard of a Canadian Rapper called Drake. He's been blowing up the music charts for the past couple of years, and I don't really understand the appeal of this guy. I would say that my musical tastes are somewhat  broad , but I mostly like rock, and sometimes  other  styles that reinvent older music. Before you say, "Well guy, you just hate rap music you hater!" No, I will admit I don't like most rap music, but there are some  songs  I do like in the  genre . Frankly I respect more of the rappers from the 80's and 90's more so, over most today. But this article is not about the state of rap, just Drake. So, Drake... why? Just why? Why is this boring monotone so popular. His music makes me want to fall asleep of boredom. He has probably the most uninteresting voice out right no...

A Star Is Born Movie Review

A Star Is Born was a good movie, and I was surprised to find out that Bradley Cooper was the director for this film. A Star Is Born follows Jackson Maine (Bradley Cooper) as he is a professional musician. One night he stumbles into a bar and hears a girl singing. This girl is named Ally (Lady GaGa) and the two of them hit it off great! They are perfect for each other and their romance blooms along with Ally's rise to stardom. This movie has already gained favorable  reviews , and I can see why. Lady GaGa is a fantastic actress, and Bradley Cooper delivers yet again another strong performance. I was surprised to see Sam Elliott in this movie. I didn't watch to many of the trailers, but from what I gathered, I didn't expect to see him in this film. I would also like to note, that all of the supporting cast did a fine job as well. I was very surprised to find out that this movie was directed by Bradley Cooper. I'm not exactly sure how many movies he has directed be...

31 Posts Of Halloween My Halloween Playlist

So, there is a ton of Halloween music out there but no one really listens to it that much. So, I thought for this post it would be fun to share 3 yes 3 Halloween type of songs!

Found a cool band called Skating Polly

Skating Polly is a alt band that was started by step siblings Kelli Mayo, and Peyton Bighorse in 2009 in Oklahoma. They have a very interesting sound, and their bass is more pronounced than in other alt bands that I've heard. The lead singer has a beautiful soft voice, but she can get pretty gruff in other songs than the one above. The lead singers voice at times almost sounds like it has some grunge undertones to it as well. It's pretty different from other bands that I've heard but I'm still pretty happy with that. Their music video's are also creative, and fun to watch. Would I recommend trying out this band? Yes I think that I would. If you're into indie or alt bands at all I would say that you should give this one a shot!

Recommended Music I Found in 2017

I typically love Rock music, but this year I decided to expand out a little and try some different genres of music. So I will suggest 5 songs (that have been around not just this year) that you should check out that you probably didn't hear this year (links to youtube vids will be provided). The first song I am going to recommend is Chop Suey, By Robyn Adele Anderson. This is a Jazz cover of Chop Suey by System of a Down. It works really well as a jazz song, and I really appreciate the vocals on this track. Click here  to listen. The next song is The Curse, by Agnes Obel. This is a Folk song with some Classical inspiration, as I would describe it. The song is very relaxing, and the instrumentals are artfully preformed and the vocals are gorgeous. I admit though that this song didn't come out this year, but a few years ago. Anyways, click  here  to listen. The next song is In Hell I'll Be In Good Company, by The Dead South. This Blue Grass song is well done overall, ...

Why Video Game Music Is The New Classical Music

I should start this off by saying I'm not going out and buying soundtracks to video games, but I am starting to appreciate it as the art that it is. My musical tastes typically lean more towards rock, and I don't really care for most pop, rap, or country music, (that will be a different post) though there are some exceptions within each genre. I think rock is my favorite but I admit that it's not for everyone. I have more recently been getting into more classical music, specifically Beethoven. The man is a freaking musical genius. Moonlight Sonata third movement, is just amazing. But when you cross this with more of a rock/metal vibe you get  this , an amazing mix of genres that create wonderful music. It's not a big secret or anything that classical music isn't that popular right now, nor will it be popular for a while again probably. However, the classical scene is thriving in video games it appears, and I believe that the genre should embrace this! Even if yo...
