So, people kept telling me to watch Blazing Saddles, and so I did, but it was over hyped.
I consider myself a fan of Gene Wilder, as I love Young Frankenstein and Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, but I couldn't really feel a strong performance from him this time around.
I'm not going to explain the story for this movie, frankly because I was kinda bored throughout the film.
Don't get me wrong, there are a couple of well placed jokes in this movie, but it's just that I really couldn't get into it overall. It just wasn't that entertaining, and there are a ton of better comedies that I've seen from that era.
Honestly this movie just seemed like it was just a paycheck for these actors and nothing more. I mean I understand that this is a job for them, but I didn't feel like they actually cared about this movie.
I kind of expected more, and I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up for this film. Would I recommend watching it? If you are a Gene Wilder fan, I think you should see it at least once, but otherwise stick to some of his other films.
final score: 3/5
