Movie Review The Mummy

So I just got back from seeing The Mummy... and... well... it's not as bad as the critics make it sound (okay, you can start booing now).
So the film stars Tom Cruise, playing Tom Cruise, or at-least his type of personality he brings to the other films he is in. He does an alright job at it.
I'll go through the flaws of the film, which most of you probably want to hear. So, the big thing is that about half of the character's make really dumb decisions, like 5 seconds of logic and you could make a better choice than half of the characters. Also there's a romance that is kind of forced in the film, which it could have avoided.
I have to applaud the person(s) that did the set design. It was really well done and I think they deserve credit were credit is due.
Also the makeup artists did a fantastic job with the mummy herself.
Oh yeah, and Russell Crow is in this film.
Well the question is, is it enjoyable? My answer, meh. there's some entertainment to behold, but you can easily predict what will happen next. The comedy is worth a few chuckles, otherwise nothing spectacular. The action is okay, but nothing new (or nothing to creative), character motivation is a little sloppy, but it's acted alright overall.
I don't think that this film deserves the hate it's getting as much as it is, but rest assured that this movie is no Brendan Fraser mummy film.

Final score: 3/5

Dora and the Lost City of Gold Movie Review

Dora and the Lost City of Gold Movie Review This Was My Dad's Idea Well... I went and saw Dora and the Lost City of Gold today with my dad, and... the film was a lot funnier than it has any right to be. Dora and the Lost City of Gold is a live action adaptation of the Dora tv show on Nickelodeon. Dora, now a teenager, is sent to the City to live with her cousin, Diego, while her parents go exploring for a lost City. When her parents go missing, Dora and her new friends go and search for her parents. I can't believe I'm going to say this, but the movie wasn't half bad. There is a ton of tongue and cheek humor. There is some cringe to the Dora and the Lost City of Gold too, but remember, this is a movie made for kids. As a kids film, it does a fine job. The acting was fine, and for a kids film, everyone did alright. Isabela Moner, who played Dora, did a good job portraying the character from what I remember about the show when I was very young. What surprised...

Uncharted Movie Review

Uncharted Movie Review Not As Good As The Games I went and saw the movie Uncharted a while ago, and it was as I expected it to be. If you are a fan of the games, well... prepare for disappointment. Uncharted follows Nathan Drake (Tom Holland), a low level thief as he is recruited by Victor Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg) to go on a treasure hunt. As someone who has played some of the games, but not all, I have to say that the Uncharted film is what I thought it would be. A mishmash of all four games but not committing to any of them. The acting is a bit stale, and the plot is predictable. The camera work was fine, but the music was underused. Tom Holland should not have been Nathan Drake. He lacks the charisma, the attitude, and the charm. He may have passed for a teenage Nathan Drake, but he should have only been in a few scenes. I'm not the biggest fan of Tom Holland either long time readers may know. Now, onto Mark Wahlberg as Victor Sullivan. Mark Wahlberg is way too young to be playi...
