The Quintessentialist

Well if I could sum up this entire movie into one word it would be predictable. I don't have much to say because there's not much to say in the first place a Bodyguard protects a Hitman. The action is a little drawn out, and kind of got boring at times. Nothing new or interesting at all, at least that I can remember. Some and I repeat some of the comedy is okay. I will probably forget about this movie in a week. The actors did okay. Some of it's entertaining if you turn off your brain kinda thing. final score: 2.5/5

So I just saw Logan Lucky with some friends, and it was a really fun film! The pacing was spot on, it didn't drag at all. The comedy kept the ball rolling for a while and there are some really good laughs to be had while watching this movie. There are not many heist films out right now so this was a really refreshing movie to watch, something different at grabs your attention and doesn't let go. The music for this film was really well done. Channing Tatum plays Jimmy Logan, a construction worker that just got laid off, and with his brother, his sister, and a inmate with his brothers, they all decide to try and rob a NASCAR race. This is such an entertaining movie I can't say this enough. I will for sure be watching this movie again when it comes out on DVD! final score: 4/5  

So last night I went and saw with some friends Annabelle: Creation. And it was a pretty enjoyable film. Once the tension starts to build it doesn't stop, it has some pretty terrifying imagery, that is well crafted and you can tell that the makers of this film really put their time into. So this movie is in the Conjuring Universe, and its a prequel to a spin-off film. I haven't seen Annabelle but from what I heard it wasn't that good, but this film, Annabelle: Creation is done wonderfully and should be celebrated by horror fans. The film also builds nicely into the Conjuring mythos, and adds more to the story so we have a more informative understanding of the events of the film series. There was a nice blend of light and dark coloring that elevates the film, to a point were its not always bleak. There's nothing to memorable about the music score unfortunately, but that's made up for the fantastic storytelling. Overall this is a fun film to watch, and a good one

So with some friends I just saw The Dark Tower, and it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong its still entertaining, but this is a kind of movie that you turn your brain off to enjoy. The opening sequence was done well, and the music created good atmosphere. However I didn't pay much attention to the music after the opening. I was surprised to see Katheryn Winnick in this film, she is a very good actress. The fight scenes are done well, a lot of gun action, that is appreciated. However what it brings in action it lacks in story, it feels rushed. And I don't know why but it made me think of Huckleberry Finn at some parts of it. I don't have much else to say about this movie, except to save your money and see it when it comes out on tv. final score: 3/5

So a few hours ago I saw the film The Big Sick, and I know, I know, I'm a little late to review this one. But I saw it and it deserves a review! The film follows the relationship of Kumail (played by Kumail Nanjiani) and Emily (played by Zoe Kazan) and things go pretty well for them until theres a fight between them and Emily gets sick, and from there I can't give any more of the plot without giving spoilers. I have to say that this is a really enjoyable film! The acting is Top Notch, pacing is well done, the sound track blends perfectly into the film and brings a nice touch to it. The film is based on and written byEmily V. Gordon, and Kumail Nanjiani and the story of how they met, basically. For the most part the comedy is done really well, and there are more than a few laugh out loud jokes contained within this film. The dynamic between Kumail and his family and the family of Emily's is really interesting and provides different views of clashing cultures that Kumail
