Rough Night Movie Review

So last night with one of my friends, we went and saw the film Rough Night, and well... It surpassed my expectations. I only saw the trailer once or twice about a month ago, so I did not really remember much about it. When my friend and I saw it last night we both thought that it would be just a dumb party movie with cheap laughs. just a 2/5 film, but we were oh so wrong. I will admit that it does start out like just another party film but when it gets to the part were they kill the striper, then it gets oh so good. I was also surprised to see Bo Burnham! I love his work! Also Lucia Aniello who wrote (and she also directed) this film with Paul W. Downs, they did a fantastic job with this script! Paul W. Downs also played the bachelor in this film, and I must say he did an impressive job with his comedy. I also have to applaud Scarlett Johansson, Jillian Bell, Zoƫ Kravitz, Ilana Glazer, and Kate McKinnon, they all did a fantastic job, and each gave us a good laugh throughout the fi

Movie Review The Mummy

So I just got back from seeing The Mummy... and... well... it's not as bad as the critics make it sound (okay, you can start booing now). So the film stars Tom Cruise, playing Tom Cruise, or at-least his type of personality he brings to the other films he is in. He does an alright job at it. I'll go through the flaws of the film, which most of you probably want to hear. So, the big thing is that about half of the character's make really dumb decisions, like 5 seconds of logic and you could make a better choice than half of the characters. Also there's a romance that is kind of forced in the film, which it could have avoided. I have to applaud the person(s) that did the set design. It was really well done and I think they deserve credit were credit is due. Also the makeup artists did a fantastic job with the mummy herself. Oh yeah, and Russell Crow is in this film. Well the question is, is it enjoyable? My answer, meh. there's some entertainment to behold, but

Where are the Action Heroes?

I think the title says it all. Where are the action heroes? This question has been on my mind for a little while. So I'll let you know what I'm talking about. First off I'm not talking about the Mad Max's, James Bond's, or other action stars of the sort. No, I'm talking about the Indiana Jones's, Rick O'Connell's (1999 The Mummy if you don't know which character I'm talking about). Hell, i'll even throw in some video game character's that fit what I'm talking about, one's like, Lara Craft, Nathan Drake (Uncharted Series). I'm talking about what I would call a sub-archetype of the action hero character, which I call the Artifact Hero Archetype, or in layman's terms, the badass archeologist. What are the typical characteristics of an action hero? Young to middle age, strong, more determination than most of the cast of characters (exception would probably be the villain), and good with weapons. Then what are the chara

My Top 5 Most Anticipated Films For 2018

So it's already halfway through 2017... So why not make a list of movies I can't wait to see next year! So with out further-ado, here is my top 5 most anticipated films for 2018 list! 5.) Avatar 2      I can't wait for the sequel to James Cameron's Avatar! If it really does come out in 2018 (and not        get pushed again)! 4.) Tomb Raider       "Another video game movie, this will only go bad!" Some of you will say, especially after the               terrible tomb raider films in the earlier 2000's. But hey, I'm willing to give it another chance. 3.) Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2      I enjoyed the first film of this harry potter spin-off series, I want to know if they can make another      decent film. 2.) Jurassic World 2      The first film was alright in this new Jurassic Park series, I'm interested to see if the sequel can top      the first. 1.) Deadpool 2      I don't have to say anything, because the title s
