The Dentist Movie Review Not My Favorite Charlie Chaplin Film, But Still Good So, The Dentist is a 1914 Charlie Chaplin film and obviously one of his early works. It's not my personal favorite, but it's still somewhat comical. The film centers around the problems going on at a dentists office. It's a pretty short film clocking in at under 15 minutes. Like I mentioned above, the movie was released in 1914. Just think about it for a moment, you're watching a movie that's over 100 years old and the comedy still holds up, how many modern films will be able to say that in 100 years? As always, Charlie Chaplin gave a fantastic performance. He got better as he got older, but his younger self was still pretty good.  The camera work was pretty good for the time. The music had such a classic ring to it, you know you've heard it before. Overall, The Dentist is a nice little short film from Charlie Chaplin. final score: 3.8/5

Modern Times Movie Review My favorite Charlie Chaplin film It's been awhile since I last saw, Modern Times, but this movie is gold.  Modern Times starts out with a Factory Worker (Charlie Chaplin) as he's working on some machines. Then through a series of events, he runs across a woman and they end up together. So, I oversimplified the plot, but don't get me wrong, this is a fantastic movie! The comedy is great, and if you like slapstick, then this is the movie for you. Honestly I cannot understate how incredibly funny this movie is. If you've never seen any of Charlie Chaplin's works, then this is a fantastic place to start. The man had a true talent for comedy. He's such an engaging actor, he surpasses most film comedians of today in pure skill. He's so good your mind is so sucked in by what's happening on screen, you don't care that he's not really talking, nor is anyone else.  This film was made towards the very end of the sil...
